Access

To receive access, a PeopleSoft security request must be submitted. All advisors (professional or student) will have access to Bulldog Connect when approved for access to PeopleSoft. Current active faculty members are automatically given professor access. You need to ensure that the staff (professional or student) is linked to your office through Human Resources documentation to route the necessary approvals to the correct person(s).  Please ensure that the person has been hired into your department either as an employee or volunteer since security requests will go to the department's MPP.

  1. Log onto My Fresno State portal

  2. From My Menu, select Security Requests

  3. Select New Security Request

  4. Select User Security Access

  5. Enter the ID of the person who needs advising access or enter the department

    1. If you are going to submit the request for multiple people within the same department

  6. Check on the box next to the user and select Add.

  7. Verify the correct person was selected and select

  8. Under Campus Solutions (HCM), select the Student Advising (Non-Faculty) option or Student Advising (Student Advisors), depending on whether the request is for a professional staff or student advisor.

  9. For staff, choose Permanent Access. For students, enter the appropriate date range (one academic year maximum).

  10. In the text box, enter an explanation for the request.

    1. If Front Desk Access is needed, you would put the request here. (For example: Please give Front Desk access to the University Advising Center location.)

PeopleSoft Security Roles

To receive access to Bulldog Connect, a PeopleSoft security request must be submitted. All the Bulldog Connect roles are listed below. Please list the Bulldog Connect role under the justification (comments) portion; none of the Bulldog Connect roles are listed in the security request options.

SA EAB Advisor

This dynamic role grants Faculty and Non-Faculty advisors access to the Academic version of EAB (Bulldog Connect). EAB is a student advising application used by the campus to track advising sessions and information for students. This role grants access to schedule appts, edit appts, track advising sessions, enter student/advising notes, view future/past appointments, run reports, and VIEW GRADES.

SA EAB Advisor Lead

This role grants senior administrators, department chairs, and directors access to the Academic version of EAB (Bulldog Connect).  EAB is a student advising application used by the campus to track advising sessions and information for students.  This role grants access to run the Institutional/Analytical reports.

SA EAB Front Desk

This role grants both staff or students access to schedule appointments and view future appointments in EAB (Bulldog Connect). EAB is a student advising application used by the campus to track advising sessions and information for students. It also grants access to check students in at the front desk to initiate the Front Desk role through EAB. This role does NOT grant access to the student profile information in EAB.

SA EAB Advisor Limited

This role is used to track Advising Access to EAB Academics. EAB (Bulldog Connect) is a student advising application used by the campus to track advising sessions and information for students. This role grants access to schedule appts, edit appts, track advising sessions, enter student/advising notes, view future/past appointments, and run reports. This version limits the students the advisor can see to only those assigned to them. A process maintains that access is based on this role. It does NOT grant access to view Grades.

SA EAB Tutor

This role grants both student interns/tutors access to the academic version of EAB (Bulldog Connect). EAB is a student advising application used by the campus to track advising sessions and information for students. This role grants access to schedule appts, edit appts, track advising sessions, enter student/advising notes, view future/past appointments, and run reports. It does NOT grant access to view Grades.
