Referring Students to Support Services

Note. Refer a student at any time, at any point, a professor, staff, or coach role can refer students to student support programs through Bulldog Connect.

Coordinated Referrals is here to help us reach our goals at Fresno State: "to provide a quality educational experience for our students while protecting the health and well-being of our campus community."

There are several locations to issue ad hoc referrals in Bulldog Connect. They include the Staff Home or Professor Home pages, in Advanced Search results, or from a student profile.

To issue a referral from Staff Home or Professor Home, select Issue a Referral from the Actions pane. A dialog then prompts you to search for the student you want to issue the referral for, as in the following screenshot.

Selecting Issue a Referral opens the referral dialog box. Text boxes in the dialog are in the list that follows the screenshot.

  • Referral Reason:  Select at least one reason for issuing this referral. Some referrals send an email to the student and/or might open a Case.

Important. A few Referral reasons are only seen by the referral department.

Expanding Coordinated Referrals

The adage “it takes a village” is often applied to challenging but worthy missions, and no initiative on campus is more important than ensuring that students succeed. When the “village” comes together, students are more likely to see a return on their investment in education. With Bulldog Connect those, who play a role in student success are coming together to support students in more efficient, intelligent, and meaningful ways.

If your program is interested in being part of the network please take some time to fill out the form. Once the form is completed someone will reach out for training and to formally set up the referral.
